My business partner is going to be coming to town soon, and we’re going to be meeting with several important people who could help us to further some of our professional goals. As they are going to be out-of-town guests, we want to be sure to impress them and although we are confident in our own presentation materials, we know that it couldn’t hurt to also wow – or woo – them with a spectacular San Francisco experience. As such, we’ve chosen Top of the Mark as the meeting place for our first night of negotiations.
Our plan is for them to leave the airport and check in to their hotel and then come enjoy a late-night drink at Top of the Mark, perhaps reaching the bar by cable car since there is a stop just outside of the front doors. This nineteenth-floor cocktail lounge located in the Mark Hopkins hotel offers a near 360-degree view of the city from the East Bay to the direction of Ocean Beach, making it the perfect setting for pointing out the different activities we hope to enjoy with our guests while they are in the area.
I don’t make it to places like Top of the Mark too often, favoring local spots over major tourist destinations, but when I get the opportunity to put a little swank in my step, this is a great place for doing so. The views remind me of what I love about the city. The live jazz music helps set the mood for the romance that San Francisco is all about. And in this case, the notable “100 Martini Menu” should help us loosen our tongues and their pockets.
