You'd think with wholesome holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hannukah just around the corner - the casinos would be slowing down in Reno hotels. But no....! The winter holidays just mean a host of events in Reno to keep those slot reels spinning (ok - most don't even have real reels these days).
Reno is featuring hot concerts and wild comedy to get your Turkey day going. Dave Chappelle plays Reno on November 18th - taking a break from giving Comedy Central the brush-off. A few days before - Rob Thomas of the super-mellow band Matchbox 20 "rocks" Reno with his music and singing. Both shows are at the glamorous Reno event center - a metal covered building that bears a close resemblance to a warehouse or storage facility - right near the Silver Legacy, El Dorado, and Circus-Circus hotels in Reno.
Yip - we're willing to play you all-year-round here in Reno, Envy. We've got turkey at the hotel buffets and the shows play 24/7/365. You'll get to see cars slipping and sliding on our icy streets like you could NEVER see in Vegas. Check out our Reno events for November and December -- and don't forget to play those tables hard !
With winter roaring on through the Sierras - we've got a veteran ski-bum to write up his own brutally honest opinions of Tahoe's best ski resorts. This guy's a little pickier - even than us - so check out his pointed reviews of Squaw Valley, Heavenly Ski Resort, and Northstar at Tahoe. Then ski it or board it - but HIT THOSE RENO TABLES!
I'm surprised that Dave Chappelle is playing Reno. The Biggest Little City is bringing in some big names. Did you see that Carlos Mencia was just at the Hilton?
